WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THERAPY ON WHEELS

The staff at Therapy On Wheels dream big, but we know we have to start small. After our success in Manguzi we are in contact with Choice Trust charity in Tzaneen and are planning to take on our next project in the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. As any NPO we rely heavily on funding and donations and with enough funding we can make these big dreams come true.

These dreams include paying stipends to the locals that we train to manage the health and wellness camps once we leave and who form part of our Therapy On Wheels family.

To reach the full potential of the health and wellness camps we want to set up pop-up container clinics. In these containers we can store all the needed equipment for people to exercise with:resistance bands, yoga balls and mats, cones etc. The main purpose of these containers will be for locals to come and check on their vitals such as weight, heart rate and blood pressures. We would train locals to monitor these vitals and to record it for future reference of progress.

In an ideal world we would also build outside gyms from raw materials for those healthy yet unfit individuals who don’t have access or who can’t afford gyms.

We firmly believe in massage therapy and would send local carers and parents on courses to learn how to therapeutically massage individuals with disabilities and special needs in the area.

To raise funds we are involved with Hopelands at a Golf Day on the 10th of June and we are also planning a Bowls Day Fundraiser for later in the year.
